Yiya Mozey separated with Ziza Bafana. Veteran musician Yiya Mozey has opened up about the reasons he separated with fellow singer, Ziza Bafana. The duo formed an electric duo over decade ago.
They would go ahead to release a couple of hit songs such as Namagalo, Tebakulimba among others. Apparently, the duo was likened to the budding duo of Mowzey Radio and Weasel at the time. Although they were far off, the Goodlyf boys, they weren’t bad either and the sky was just the limit for them.
However, they didn’t spend much time together and quickly separated. Ziza Bafana went on to ger a successful solo career while Yiya Mozey faded into the bubble.
Spark TV caught up with the singer and asked him why he separated with the Pomini singer. Without fear or favor, Yiya Mozey said that he and Bafana weren’t friends at all. They were simply merged together by their management.
Besides, the Gyayo Ntekeyo singer was greedy. He had a habit of going on shows to perform alone and pocketing all the money. When Yiya Mozey complained about it, he was given an ultimatum of three days to sign the papers showing he was no longer part of the label.
Apparently, even the three days did not elapse and he was informed that he was no longer part of the crew. He had to accept the outcome and move on to a solo career too.
“The first problem was that me and Ziza Bafana weren’t friends. We were just brought together by management. Besides, he had a lot of greed. He always went and performed on shows we were advertised together alone. After I complained, I was kicked out of the label forcefully,” he said.
WHEREABOUTS?
The singer meanwhile said that he no longer mainly sings in Uganda. His major performances are outside he country and most of his new songs are more known outside than in the country.
Additionally, he said that his enw songs that are making airwaves abroad are called Oh Na Na and My Woman. For those interested in his new works, he advised them to use their smartphones wisely and check him out in YouTube. Yiya Mozey separated with Ziza Bafana
