Patrick Kanyomozi Quits KFM. Sports journalist Patrick Kanyomozi has quit Nation Media Group owned radio station, 93.3 KFM. On Friday, 29 December, Kanyomozi did his last show and bowed out of the Namuwongo based radio station.
This means that he leaves the the radio after 13 years as he joined it in 2010. Speaking about his departure, Kanyomozi said that he’s grateful to KFM for giving him a platform.
According to him, he came to the station when he was a nobody but by the time he has left, he had already made a name for himself. Furthermore, he thanked the station for making his dreams come true.
These include travelling to countries he had only read about in the newspapers. He was able to cover two World Cups, one in South Africa and another in Russia.
Besides, he also covered the CommonWealth games which was an absolute pleasure. Additionally, he was able to assume the office of the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) as the president.
“After 13 years at KFM, I close my chapter with the station. I came here when I was a nobody but the radio gave me a platform. I have achieved a lot such as covering two world Cups in South Africa and Russia. Besides, I also covered the CommonWealth games and a sports journal is judged by the sporting events he’s covered. I also became the USPA president which is the biggest and most organised sports journalists association in Eastern and central Africa,” he said.
Apparently, it’s not clear what his next move is. There is speculation on whether he will continue in the media or if he will take a backseat from active journalism.
Furthermore, Kanyomozi who is married to Capital FM curvy presenter, Lucky Mbabazi is a close ally of Bobi Wine. Therefore a political career wouldn’t be off the cards off for him.
