Students Came In Chopper For Prom. The Minister for higher education JC Muyingo has come to express his fury and dissatisfaction with a school where students turned up in a chopper for their prom party. Apparently two students, a boy and girl, turned up in a helicopter at Elite High School for their prom party. The whole event was just full of pomp, glamour and glitz.
Well this rubbed different shoulders wrong. According to social media opinions, many people weren’t happy about this development. Many wondered what the extravagance was for. Others called out the school for holding such pompous parties yet it performs poorly in UNEB exams.
Others criticized the parents of the kids for spoiling them with a lot of luxuries while others went down the path of body shaming. However, these students had some netizens to their defense. They called all those who were bitter about this incident just broke and miserable.
Some people didn’t see what was wrong with the students making the best out of their time. Besides, this is why parents work so hard, to give their kids the best in life. And whether this determines their success or failure in life, it’s none of anyone’s business..
Well, Minister Muyingo wasn’t impressed at all. He wondered what kind of lessons these parents are teaching to their kids. This is because money is a scarce resource that should be given value. The Minister said that even though he has money, he has never thought of doing such an extravagant thing. He went ahead to term it as horrible.
“Are those things happening in Uganda? Where are we going? I have never thought of hiring a chopper. Money is a scarce resource. It shouldn’t just be given out and spent just like that even if their parents have money. What message are they sending to the children? That is horrible,” said the Minister.
