Mama D Is Chasing The Guinness Cookathon Record. Ugandans especially on social media were thrown into a state of debate after a certain Ugandan lady sprouted herself out and decided to chase the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon known as a Cookathon.
Apparently she’s known as Dorcus Bashema Kirabo but now popularly known as Mama D. Her aim is to break the world record held by Alan Fisher from Ireland.
Apparently he set this individual record in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023. Currently it stands at 119 hours, 57 minutes and 16 seconds.
Previously the record had been held by Nigeria’s Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci. Her record stood at 93 hours 11 minutes.
Therefore, Mama D will have to cook for 120+ hours to fancy her chances of breaking this record. Additionally, she started her quest on December 23, 2023 in Kira, Wakiso district. As of now she’s cooked for 100 hours already.
The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) boss Lilian Arjarova even picked interest in her quest and decided to visit her Cookathon place. Several Ugandans including celebrities such as Juliana Kanyomozi and Eddy Kenzo have drummed support Mama D.
Mama D Is Chasing The Guinness Cookathon Record. Once the entire process is complete, the Guinness team will have to ascertain if she indeed met the requirements. And certification can follow.
