[Shanghai, China, September 18, 2025] — At HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, the Huawei Optical Summit was held under the theme “No Fiber, No AI: All-Optical Networks Power AI for All Industries.” The event highlighted global progress in all-optical networks and their role in driving digital and intelligent transformation since the launch of the “No Fiber, No AI” initiative.
During the summit, Huawei unveiled its F5G Advanced (F5G-A) product series and presented ten global showcases demonstrating how F5G-A all-optical networks are being applied across industries.
Kim Jin, Vice President of Huawei’s Optical Business Product Line, emphasized that all-optical networks are central to enabling inclusive AI, now supporting adoption across more than 2,000 enterprises worldwide. Real-world deployments have proven that all-optical networks provide the ideal foundation for AI-driven innovation. Expanding rapidly from data center interconnects (DCIs) to industrial communication systems, campus networks, and sensing terminals, all-optical networks “enhance, drive, and empower computing with fiber,” making inclusive AI accessible to diverse industries.
F5G-A Solutions Upgraded for Key Industry Scenarios
At HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, Huawei introduced upgraded F5G-A innovations tailored for critical industry applications.
- Power Systems: To accelerate the development of next-generation energy infrastructure, Huawei launched a new edge computing board and partnered on an advanced edge computing unit. These devices deliver real-time detection and predictive analytics for distributed PV output and transformer district loads, pushing low-voltage distribution networks toward self-sensing, self-decision-making, and self-optimization. This milestone “drives computing with fiber” in modern power scenarios.
- ISP Home Broadband: For home broadband providers, Huawei unveiled an AI-interference-resistant Wi-Fi 7 ONT, advancing its “One Fiber, One Network, One Smart Home” vision. This innovation ushers in the 10G home access era, offering ultra-fast, stable connectivity to power AI applications. Enhanced AI-based FTTR (Fiber to the Room) features include 2D-to-3D video conversion for cinema-grade experiences, voice interaction, and AI agent deployment—laying the foundation for intelligent home hubs in the AI era.
- Campus Networks: In sectors like education, healthcare, and hospitality, Huawei strengthened its F5G-A FTTO (Fiber to the Office) solution with groundbreaking products:
- The industry’s first commercially deployable symmetric 50G PON ONU, reducing pathological detection time from two minutes to under 10 seconds with AI-driven efficiency.
- A zero-roaming optical AP that virtualizes 48 APs into one, ensuring seamless co-frequency networking and uninterrupted connectivity during mobile ward rounds and office operations.
- The first Wi-Fi 7 optical AP with integrated communication and sensing, enabling intelligent energy-saving lighting, fraud prevention, and enhanced privacy protection.
- Oil and Gas Pipelines: Huawei upgraded its Fiber Sensing for Pipeline Inspection solution with the industry’s first automatic pig-tracking system. By collecting real-time data and applying AI analysis, the solution delivers positioning accuracy within 20 meters, boosting pigging efficiency and reliability—further “empowering computing with fiber.”
Ten Global All-Optical Network Showcases: Models for Digital Transformation
Huawei also unveiled ten global F5G-A all-optical network showcases at the summit. These include Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Wuliangye Group, Shenzhen Nanshan People’s Hospital, Wuhan City Optical Network, Beijing Subway Line 1, Brazil GIGA+, and South African Railways PRASA. Spanning government, energy, transport, healthcare, education, manufacturing, ISP, and hospitality sectors, these deployments serve as reference models for “F5G-A all-optical networks + AI” driving digital transformation worldwide.
Commitment to Innovation in the AI Era
In the age of AI, Huawei reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation in optical technologies. Working with global customers and partners, the company aims to accelerate all-optical network adoption and make AI benefits accessible across industries.
HUAWEI CONNECT 2025 runs from September 18–20 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center and Shanghai Expo Center under the theme “All Intelligence.” The event explores AI through strategy, technology, and ecosystems while unveiling Huawei’s latest intelligent infrastructure products, industry-specific solutions, and development tools.
